Bridging Skill Gaps: Aligning Education with Industry Need
As part of the project’s objectives, the cosnortium focused on analyzing and bridging skill gaps in the Asian partner countries. This task relied heavily on findings from previous reports, particularly D2.1 and D2.2, which summarized the skill gaps identified through stakeholder questionnaires and the contributions from all five domains. These reports highlighted a significant disconnect between the technical and practical skills needed by the industry and those gained by graduates of higher education institutions (HEIs).
Using the study programs provided by Asian partners, D3.2 buildt on this analysis to establish a comprehensive framework (D2.3) that defines the critical skills required by the industry in each domain. By aligning the identified skill gaps with existing study programs, the most relevant programs were pinpointed for each institution. This serves as a guideline for creating, updating, and improving courses to better meet industry needs.
A practical example comparing skill gaps and study programs was also included to illustrate how these insights can be applied effectively. This approach aims to ensure the alignment of academic training with market demands, addressing critical gaps across all domains.
